About Primary and Secondary School Studánka
Primary and Secondary School Pardubice–Studánka was founded in 1963. Its 3.2-hectare campus, set in a park in Pardubice, is notable for being fully accessible to people with disabilities.
The school provides compulsory education for 633 pupils aged six to fifteen, from Year 1 to Year 9. It has 25 classes with an average of 25 pupils and employs 60 members of staff, including 36 highly qualified teachers.
In addition to general classrooms, the campus includes specialist rooms for science, chemistry, physics, music, art and crafts, computing, languages, design and technology, home economics, and a winter garden.
Pupils can use a sports hall, gym, gymnastics hall, outdoor playground, school garden and field, and a pottery room. The school also operates an after-school club and canteen.
A broad range of activities is available after lessons, including a school library with almost 5,000 books and around 30 clubs covering art, sport, music and computing. English clubs are offered from Year 1, while English is taught as a compulsory subject from Year 4. Environmental education and physical education, including a focus on basketball, are also important parts of school life.
Twelve pupils with physical disabilities are integrated into mainstream classes; five receive support from teaching assistants. The school also educates pupils with hearing or visual impairments, autism and learning difficulties. Individual education plans and support from specially trained teachers are provided according to each pupil’s needs.
Some school activities are organised by the School Board, which includes representatives from Years 5 to 9. The Board works with school management and the Friends of the School to discuss current issues and prepare upcoming events.
